Jinenryu Nito Ryu Raikoh 自然流 二刀流 雷光

We did Raikoh today.  Lightning.
Bit of an unusual feeling, attacking from Hira Ichi Monji, the quintessential defensive Kamae.  Basically we practiced to decrease the interval between the first harau and the second cut to kote.

"It shouldn't be, one....two, but rather onetwo."

In addition Sensei commented on the second cut to Kote:

"This is a big cut.  Don't stop.  Sweep it all the way up.  The handle should be braced against your forearm to increase the strength of your cut."

In general the difficult point was outlined as follows:

"From this Kamae you have to find the right ma-ai and attack. How you work in to that distance is up to you to figure out.  You can move in with either the left (straight in) or right foot (yoko aruki), but it is important to twist your body out of where the uke will strike.  Don't move straight in or you will get done in."
